Lynne Shea, director of finance and resources at Gateway, will take on the role of interim chief executive until Kate’s appointment in 2018.
Madeleine Forster, chair of Gateway’s board, said: “We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Kate Dodsworth. Her track record is impressive and we’re confident she’ll take Gateway from strength to strength.
“We look forward to working with her as she builds on past achievements to provide the highest quality service to our residents and the community.
“We’re very glad that Lynne Shea, Gateway’s finance and resources director, has agreed to step up as interim chief executive until Kate is in post.”
Kate started her career in homelessness and mental health 25 years ago. After completing a Master’s degree in Housing, she moved to the National Housing Federation, latterly becoming assistant director. She led on policy and lobbying for affordable housing for London and the South East.
She moved to AmicusHorizon in 2013 as executive director of people and strategy.
She continued this role for Optivo following a merger in May 2017. Kate is the chair of the CIH London Board and an external examiner for Westminster University.
Kate said: “I’m honoured and excited to be appointed as chief executive of Gateway Housing Association.
“Its ethos of supporting local communities to thrive is well known and I look forward to working with the board, executive team, staff and residents to take the organisation to the next stage after an impressive 90 year history.”
