This event is building on the success of last year’s event, where over 60 from local community groups and charities got to find out more about getting money for their projects and meet face-to-face with funding providers. Many of the groups who attended went on to make a successful bid for grant funding after attending ‘Funding the Future’ in 2017.
This year’s event which is supported by Stockport Council and Windmill Coffee Shop, provides the opportunity to meet with funding providers including: The National Lottery; Heritage Lottery; Equity Foundation; Forever Manchester; One Stop Carriers for Causes; and Tesco Bags of Help.
At the ‘Funding the Future’ event attendees can:
- hear from a range of funding providers;
- spend time talking face-to-face to representatives of funding providers; and
- hear from a local community group, find out about writing a good funding bid and hear about help for social enterprises in Stockport.
Robin Burman, Chair of Stockport Homes’ Board said, “Stockport Homes puts the local community at the heart of the work it does and this event provides a fantastic way of putting local groups in need of funding in direct contact with funders. This will be a great way of helping local groups to secure funding which will benefit the local Stockport community.”
