Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced all-round researcher to join our team at the National Housing Federation.

The National Housing Federation is the trade body for housing associations in England.  Our members provide 2.6m homes for six million people. We are the voice of affordable housing in England, and believe that everyone should have the home they need at a price they can afford. We work at the forefront of the political debate not only on housing but on a wide range of other policy issues including welfare, homelessness and devolution. Our work affects the lives of millions of people across the country.

Displaying a keen understanding of the role of research in supporting arguments and telling stories, you will provide timely, robust analysis to support the work of the Federation to promote and raise the profile of our members. This will include contributing to reports, analysis projects, media campaigns, and other corporate programmes. You will also engage with the reactive work of our team by answering queries from colleagues, members, journalists and, a wide range of other stakeholders. This is a varied and exciting role where no two days are the same.

The successful candidate will have great interpersonal and communication skills, a proactive approach to their work, along with a hunger to learn. The ability to prioritise a changing workload with a high level of attention to detail is vital. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also essential for this role.

On offer is an excellent package, combined with the opportunity to champion and use evidence to make a valuable contribution towards helping to solve the housing crisis.

So if you have an ability to pull compelling stories from complex figures, a broad knowledge of different research methods and a desire to use your knowledge and skills to help end the housing crisis, we want to hear from you!

The Federation is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and we value the contribution each individual makes to our work.  We are committed to ensuring our workforce reflects the diversity of the society in which we live and encourage applications from people of all different backgrounds, regardless of all protected characteristics or social background.

We are a disability confident employer and if you are a disabled person who demonstrates you meet the skills and experience we consider essential for the role, we will offer you an interview.

If your interested in this role, please apply on our website.
