Jan Williams OBE, chair of Public Health Wales, has joined the board of Hafod.
Williams has held a number of executive positions across the health sector during her 32 year professional career, combining these with independent, non-executive appointments in the health, education and police and criminal justice sectors – gaining significant experience in the independent oversight of public service complaints and professional regulation.
With a keen interest in cross-sector working, Williams is now looking to influence the realignment of housing, health and social care in Wales.
“I am honoured to join the Hafod board at such an exciting time, the housing, health and social care agendas are coming together to support integrated service delivery and Hafod has a major opportunity to shape this agenda – I am really looking forward to making a contribution to delivering the Hafod vision,” she said.
Hafod chair Nigel James said Williams had shown herself to be an outstanding leader across public sector services in Wales.
“She is passionate about the importance of housing and its interface with health and social care which is where Hafod is positioning itself for the future. I am delighted that Jan has agreed to join the Hafod Board at this exciting time and support us on our journey towards Caring for the Future.”
Established in 1968, Hafod is a not for profit organisation operating across 10 local authority areas in South Wales providing housing, support and care for over 16,000 people.
