Leadership 2025 Year 2 cohort announced

Following the success of its first year, the second round of participants has been released for the leadership development programme.

The initiative, aimed at senior leaders in the housing sector is back for its second year, boasting the involvement of executive members and CEOs.

Among the group, Jehan Weerashinghe, Regional Director Operations at L&Q, covers roles relating to regeneration, community and housing services since his humble beginnings at the company.

Passionate advocate of diversity and treasurer of children’s charity in London, “inspiration, energy and change” are three words to sum Jehan’s leadership in housing.

Next up, and with 24 years of experience in property, Makanjuola Akinyemi sits as Director of Property Services at Gateway.

Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building, Makanjuola is a man of achievement, including the creation of ‘Gateway Homeworks’, in-house contractor delivering repairs and refurbishments.

The Leaderships long-term ambition of supporting the housing sector will provide advice and mentoring, including the rigorous selection process of participants from a range of organisations.

Making the cut, Chatinder Bal, Residential Development Director at TVHA is currently responsible for delivering a 2,000 home a year programme across the UK.

Working within the development sector for over 15 years, Chatinder is keen to forge long term partnerships within the sector, striving to get the deal done.

With a portfolio of over 7000 dwellings in South London, Executive Director Yinka Bolaji has successfully implemented management strategies, as well as holding down a degree at Cambridge University.

20-years of housing experience secured Yinka senior management roles at Genesis Housing and Anchor Trust.

Last, but not least, as the saying goes, Terence Wong of L&G started secured his entry into the housing sector as a chartered accountant.

Holding a senior position as Director of Financial Services, Terence has been instrumental in shaping finance divisions at L&G.

Sitting on the Leadership Group, he is an accredited employer as he champions a growing graduate trainee programme.
