Bridgend-based Valleys to Coast has today (11th February) announced the appointment of Joanne Oak as its new CEO.
Oak will be welcomed to the team in early May replacing interim CEO Duncan Forbes, who has been leading the organisation over the last six months.
Providing and managing nearly 6,000 homes across Bridgend, South Wales, Joanne’s appointment is said to help with their vision to “build a better Wales”.
With over two decades of senior leadership roles across the public and third sectors, Oak holds experience in leadership, change management, strategic planning, financial management, and governance.
She moves from Social Care Wales, where she is director of strategy and corporate services.
Oak is currently a board member of Bron Afon Community Housing and a trustee for Buildings Communities Trust.
Commenting on her new role, Oak said: “I’m delighted to be appointed to lead Valleys to Coast at an exciting time, to drive forward the ambition to build new quality homes and deliver excellent services for our customers.
“I am passionate about making a difference, ensuring everyone has access to a decent home, and that we build vibrant communities.
“I am really looking forward to joining the fantastic Valleys to Coast team, working with customers and partners to ensure we continue to build more homes and support the local community.”
Anthony Whittaker, chair of the board of Valleys to Coast, added: “We are delighted that Jo will be joining us as our new chief executive.
“We are looking forward to working with her and the rest of the team to deliver our exciting and ambitious plans to support our customers and provide much-needed new homes in Bridgend.”
