Northern Housing Consortium joins the Northern Powerhouse

NHC is named as partner to the programme.

The Northern Housing Consortium (NHC) has become the latest member of the Northern Powerhouse Partner Programme.

NHC chief executive Tracy Harrison said: “We share an ambition to invest in the supply and quality of the North’s housing offer, supporting our members to create great places to live and enabling the North to become a magnet for new business and talented people.

“This exciting new collaboration will help us to ensure housing plays an important role in the Northern Powerhouse agenda.”

The Northern Powerhouse is the government’s vision for a connected, competitive northern economy.

A not-for-profit membership organisation, NHC works with 145 local authorities, ALMOs, and housing associations on housing policy for the North.

Northern Powerhouse Minister Jake Berry said NHC’s commitment to creating housing policy “for the North by the North” built on the government’s £3.4bn of Local Growth Fund investment in the region.

“I am excited to welcome NHC as a member of our ever-expanding network of over 300 Northern Powerhouse Partner organisations,” he said.
