RSH releases interim judgement on major merger

The newly created Anchor Hanover Group gets interim grades of G1 for governance and V1 for viability in a judgement released by the Regulator for Social Housing (RSH) today (20th Dec).

Anchor Hanover Group was the result of a merger of Anchor Trust and Hanover Housing Association.

RSH said its interim judgement was based upon the regulator’s previous assessments of the providers which have now merged.

The merger was billed as formed England’s biggest provider of care and housing for older people with more than 60,000 homes across 1,700 locations supported by more than 9,000 colleagues.

Both Anchor and Hanover started out in the 1960s.

As a single entity they provide rented and leasehold retirement housing and residential care homes in more than 90% of local council area across England.
