VIDEO: LGBT best practice in HAs

We have teamed up with Tenants TV to bring you some of the good practice in diversity and inclusion currently going on in the sector.

First up is Joe Lavelle, who is a tenant at housing association Riverside. He outlines the impact some of the Riverside initiatives have had on his life and the lives of those in the LGBT community.

Next up is John Glenton who, as well as his day to day job at Riverside, is also co-chair of the LGBT group Spectrum. He gives an overview of the work the group does and its importance.

We also spoke to Lyn Bowker, Equality and Diversity Manager at Riverside, who gave us the feel for the type of frontline work the organisation does to help with LGBT issues.

Chair of the resident LGBT forum at his housing association L&Q, Michael Verrier explains the work L&Q have done already and what more still needs to be done to tackle future problems.

Tenants TV are a group looking to remove the stigma around social housing by celebrating all that is good in the sector. They are also aiming to reconnect housing associations and tenants, in order to foster better relationships. To find out more about them, and how you can get involved, visit their website.
