mhs homes reveal amount raised for 2018 charity of the year, Crohn’s & Colitis UK

We’re really pleased to have raised so much money for Crohn’s & Colitis UK, our 2018 charity of the year.

We’re very proud to have raised have raised more than £20,000 throughout 2018 for Crohn’s & Colitis UK.

It’s thought Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis and other forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease affect 300,000 people in the UK.

The charity was nominated by our Procurement Manager, Alexandra Hackwell, whose close friend, Taryn Duhig suffers with Crohn’s disease.

“This money will make a huge difference in helping support those who suffer with Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis and other forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. I’m so grateful to everyone who’s helped raise this fantastic sum of money – from the rowing to the cake baking, slippers day to sponsored silences – everything you’ve done has helped raise vital funds, thank you.”

One of the charity’s aims is to spread awareness that not all disabilities are visible. People who suffer from Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis often experience stigma, fear and isolation.

“Huge thanks to mhs homes for their fantastic awareness raising and fundraising in 2018. This incredible sum will enable us to continue to support everyone affected by Crohn’s and Colitis. Our charity is working to improve diagnosis and treatment, fund research into a cure, raise awareness and give people hope, comfort and confidence to live their life to the full. We simply couldn’t do this without help from companies like mhs homes.”

Rachel Covey, Corporate Partnerships Officer at Crohn’s & Colitis UK

We’d like to say thank you to staff, stakeholders and everyone else who’s supported or donated to Crohn’s & Colitis UK and helped us raised such a huge amount.

We’re looking forward to supporting mental health charity Mind, throughout 2019, which you can find out more about here.
