Richard has spent 25 years working in housing, building and regeneration. He is the Chief Executive of Brian Hyde Ltd, based in Solihull and one of the UK’s leading distributors of tools to the building industry.
He is also a non-executive director of Housemark and is the founder of the innovative online housing policy and research website, www.thinkhouse.org.uk
The married father of two children has previously served on the boards of a number of groups within the housing sector, including the Homes and Communities Agency – the national housing and regeneration agency, Midland Heart – a major Midlands housing association and Iceni Homes – a housing development services company.
SCH Chief Executive Fiona Hughes welcomed Richard to SCH, saying: “I look forward to working closely with Richard in the future as we continue to strive to deliver excellent services and homes that people want to live in across Solihull.”
Richard, a qualified chartered accountant, added: “I am thrilled to be taking on the role of Chair of the SCH Board. SCH is a terrific organisation and I look forward to working closely with the Board, along with SCH staff, residents and the Council, in the future.”
