Four new Board members with a combined 128 years’ experience across the housing, not-for-profit and financial services sectors are joining Grand Union Housing Group (GUHG).
The Group, which is now nine years old, had been looking to recruit new members after a number of Board members’ tenures had come to an end.
Aileen Evans, GUHG’s Chief Executive, said: “I am delighted to be able to welcome four new Board members who share the vision and values of GUHG.
“The Group Boards do an invaluable job and each member brings with them a wealth of knowledge and expertise that will help us deliver our ambitious strategy.
“It was always going to be a tough task replacing the Board members who have stepped down. It’s important for us to acknowledge the impact all of them have had on the organisation over the past nine years. Their input has helped the Group become what it is today.”
John Edwards comes to the post of Board member with 38 years in the financial services sector and specialises in risk management. He brings extensive knowledge of property and financial markets with him.
John will be joined on the Group Board by Vanessa Connolly who has 30 years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector, most recently as the CEO of Bedford Citizens Housing Association. Vanessa, who is also a Board member of Axiom Housing Association, will also sit on the Encourage Independent Living Committee.
Former Chief Executive of Wellingborough Homes, Dave Willis, is joining the Joint Operational Board (JOB) and brings with him over 30 years of housing experience, the most recent of which is as Operational Director with The Shared Ownership Shop.
Harpreet Chander, who has 30 years’ experience in the housing sector, will also be joining the JOB and is currently Head of Projects at Cottsway Housing Association.
