Online Facility Promotes Low Cost Homes

Buying their own home can be beyond many people but now there’s a new online facility to seek out low cost homes through shared partnership.

Housing association Longhurst Group has added an innovative new facility to its website –– a Property Search Engine.

The new facility allows visitors to find affordable and available homes with just a few clicks.

Accessed from the site’s homepage, the Property Search asks people to define their requirements. Do they want to rent or buy? Do they want to live in a house or flat? Where do they want to
live? The closest matches are then displayed.

Detailed information on available properties, such as accommodation layout, location and local services, and the ability to request an appointment to view are provided by following the easy to
navigate system.

With over 4,000 visitors every month, the Longhurst Group website provides an ideal opportunity to market properties and the Property Search facility covers all of the group’s member
companies and operating areas, enabling low cost purchase across the Midlands and East Midlands.

Longhurst Group’s Chief Executive Bob Walder said: “The introduction of this simple to use feature is particularly important because it has been developed in response to feedback
received from Longhurst Group’s customers.

“This is a significant day for Longhurst Group. The website is a vital communications channel for all our customers to find out about the wide range of services we offer. In particular the
introduction of this feature provides valuable information to those looking to purchase their homes at a low cost with many of the properties available through the government backed, shared
ownership purchase scheme.”
