Swan gets modular visit from minister

MP Nadhim Zahawi, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Business and Industry), was welcomed to Swan Housing Association’s award-winning modular-housing factory in Basildon, Essex on Thursday 6thFebruary.

Pioneers in precision engineering, Swan’s purpose-built state-of-the-art factory enables them to achieve their purpose of delivering thriving, sustainable mixed tenure communities, somewhere to call home, for those who need it most.

The Minister pledged his support for this innovative approach to building more sustainable high-quality homes more quickly as part of a largescale regeneration project to deliver new communities across East London and Essex such as Beechwood Village. Touring the factory and the new customizable ‘Avenue’ house type for Beechwood, he commented, “We are backing this type of development through our Construction Sector Deal and I am pleased to see how it is being used to help build new communities.”
